MP3 file Corpses

This is the very first piece i made for the movie. I actually pulled together that track first before i actually wrote the scene as i wanted really an emotional drive and start with the music over the actual details of the writing.

This piece takes place shortly before Anna's body is finally discovered by the NYPD. The body had been lying there in her bedroom for almost a week, with an unseasonal heat wave hitting New York. The body is very decomposed, quite horrible to look at, but it's not alone. The apartment is filled with corpses, including flowers Anna had bought just the morning she was killed, her pet cat, a bowl of cereals she had left on the counter and food in her fridge she had left open inadvertently before she was murdered.

This music is basically about discovering all these corpses throughout the apartment before settling on Anna's corpse and remember how beautiful she was and how barely recognizable her body is now (the piano music towards the end).

I used many samples to assemble this piece together, borrowing from various pieces from Arvo Part's Perpetuum Mobile, Symphonies 1, 2 and 3, and Cello Concerto, John Corigliano's First Symphony, Alban Berg's Wozzeck and Alan Hovhaness's And God Created Great Whales.
